The AhlulBayt Islamic Mission (AIM) is organising a nationwide Muslimah convention; an event for women only emphasizing the important role of Muslim women in the West. The event will take place on Saturday 11th July 2009 at the Islamic Centre in Maida Vale.
On Saturday 6th June, the AhlulBayt Islamic Mission (AIM) in association with the Sun Cultural Foundation organised a national conference to mark the 20th Anniversary since the demise of His Eminence, the Late Imam Khomeini (RA). 
In the era of awakening, the Muslim Ummah is entrusted with a great treasure while, at the same time, it faces many challenges, some of which are related to the ignorance of its members, while there exists many misleading messages and malicious attacks on Islam. There is an extreme need to learn about the techniques, methods and theories as to how to promote the Message of Islam and its Divine teachings. This course is a suitable environment for those seeking to better equip themselves for the noble task of propagation of Islam to Muslims and non-Muslims.
During the month of March 2009, Sheikh Usama Abdul Ghani came on tour to the United Kindgom and spoke at different cities including Birmingham, Leicester, Watford, Luton and London. Sheikh Usama has been studying in the Hawza of Qum for more than 15 years and has become a household name for his inspirational speeches around the world. Inside is a compiliation of different video lectures from this recent visit.
On Saturday 21st March 2009, the AhlulBayt Islamic Mission organised an event entitled 'Marriage, Divorce & Family Values'. The guest speaker was Sheikh Usama Abdul Ghani from the holy city of Qum who addressed the community with a speech followed by an extensive question and answer session. Also present was Quran recitor Brother Abaan Al-Hakim who blessed us with his recitation. 
Saudi security forces have raided the house of popular Shia scholar, Sheikh Nimr Baqir Al-Nimr, and detained him in a yet unknown location. Early in the morning of Monday 16th March, Saudi internal security twice raided the house of the Sheikh, located in Al-Awwamiyyah in the Eastern Province, following which all contact with him was lost. The imprisonment of Sheikh Al-Nimr was expected after his harsh words directed towards the government in which he condemned the aggressions against Shia citizens in Madina. Sheikh Al-Nimr had also challenged the government directive that refrained Shias from performing congregational prayers on Friday in Al-Awwamiyyah. This flagrant attack against a popular Shia leader is indicative of the new modus operandi of the kingdom towards its Shia population in the aftermath of the clashes in Madina in which four Shia citizens were killed.
