The guest speaker was Sheikh Usama Abdul Ghani from the holy city of Qum who addressed the community with a speech followed by an extensive question and answer session. I listened online to your last lectures on marriage and family so I know you did an excellent job Usama, but I only see brothers in the pictures. Were there any sisters participating in the lectures' question and answer session?

did like the talks at all. found that 'women prostrating to husband' hadith must be false, and the 'shiek' should do his homework a bit more. there are many hadith, more false than not....

Is it not interesting that you have written off the hadith being false without any proof where as that Sheikh has studied more than a decade in the Hawza and knows which hadiths are false and not and he certainly does not choose them based on which conform on his own personal views of the topic which seems like what you are trying to protray here.

I would suggest prehaps a better approach next time is to present an arguement of falsification rather than just throwing statements without proof. No wonder we are so backward in our mentality and especially in our social norms!

In reply to your dangerous statement, do you not realise that you are backbiting the Sheikh (May Allah taa'la keep him under His protection)? ASTAGFARALLAH! Brother I advise you to repent and fear Allah and the Day of Judgement. Please think before you take action. What will you gain out of backbiting/slandering the Shiekh? Nothing but disobedient to Allah taa'la.

Be careful, Abu Muhammad of the comments you make. I suggest you listen to the lecture again and consider carefully his explanation of the meaning of the hadith and you would probably not feel so threatened by it. Better yet, write him and ask for the sources of the hadith before you make uneducated declarations. Also, is there any chance that you may have misconceptions about marriage and the true Islamic relationship between a man and a woman? Open your mind and ask Allah to give you the best understanding and the humility to accept it.

glad to see some people actually read to see and search out information. i haven't re-listened to the lecture but have been sent this link again... only to see my own comment and their replies.
the first person who doesn't know me, should know that i too by the grace of Allah have have studied for many years in the hawza and without knowing my knowledge should not jump to conclusions. if you think i maybe wrong, ask the shiek where are the sources for this hadith, and if he is aware of the chain of narration. if i had time to present the falsification of his argument, well then i would be no better than it in the first place.... sorry that is for you to think about. best of all you are free to disagree.
as far as the next comment, i am not back-bitting but being upfront with my own opinion. as you are with your disagreement, glad to see you are free to say what you like, please allow me and i hope you pray for me as you do for others.
as far as the final comment: i don't feel threatened, however, i feel a bit angry because islam is a beautiful religion but the misconceptions muslim have are great and damaging. the misconceptions are not on my side. for example the traditional view of women and marriage. do you know it is impossible for a women to divorce her husband... if we open our minds and ask Allah (swt) why women are considered 'able to prostrate to their husband' i am afraid that many women (muslim and non muslim) will find this unfair... we cannot blame their understanding - of fair or their lack of humility... islam is for everyone... we all have a right to it. no one should hijack Allah's perfect religion.
i have nothing against the shiek, i know him, but after reading the short and pervious comments i wanted to make people more aware, i hope Allah accepts my humble attempts, inshallah.
