Award-winning John Pilger film: War On Democracy PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 17 September 2007
Award-winning John Pilger film: War on Democracy The War On Democracy examines the false democracy that comes with western corporations and financial institutions and a war waged, materially and as propaganda, against popular democracy. It is the story of the people I first saw 40 years ago; but they are no longer invisible; they are a mighty political movement, reclaiming noble concepts distorted by corporatism and they are defending the most basic human rights in a war being waged against all of us. In The War On Democracy, the camera sweeps across the Andes in Bolivia to the highest and poorest city on earth, El Alto, then follows Juan Delfin, a priest and a taxi driver, into a cemetery where children are buried. The War On Democracy is about courage and a warning to us all that "for them" nothing has changed, that "blood equals medals".

Iraq's Unclaimed Dead PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 15 September 2007
Iraq's Unclaimed Dead Every month in Iraq hundreds of victims are struck down by sectarian violence or massive bombing campaigns, and a small band of volunteers has taken it upon themselves to give the unclaimed dead a proper burial. "We've been doing this for 20 years, under Saddam, but the numbers have increased, as have the difficulties," Sheik Jamal al-Sudani, who leads the volunteers, tells CNN correspondent Michael Ware. "Because now it is as if the streets are flowing with blood." Before the US invasion of Iraq deposed dictator Saddam Hussein, the volunteers buried up to 40 people every month. In the war's worst months, that figure increased 50-fold as volunteers buried an average of more than 2,000 anonymous war victims, Ware reports.

Channel 4: Jon Snow interviews President Ahmadinejad In an extended Channel 4 interview, President Ahmadinejad says Iran does not need a bomb and said his country had a role in future Iraqi security. Mr Ahmadinejad said, "I should say this to the good British people... we want peace and friendship for all. We should help. This war should finish." And when questioned on the possibility of UN sanctions, Mr Ahmadinejad said, "From the beginning we said everything should be solved by the agency."

Oil, Smoke & Mirrors: Peak Oil & the War on Terror PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 05 September 2007
Oil, Smoke & Mirrors: Peak Oil & the War on Terror Oil, Smoke & Mirrors offers a bleaker view of present global circumstances than many of us would dare consider. It deals with issues that are largely marginalized, if not ignored, in the discourse of mainstream media and politics. Through a series of impressively candid, informed and articulate interviews, this film discusses the "war on terror" in the wider context of an imminent and critical divergence between available global oil supply and increasing global oil demand. The film argues, it may well be that mediated political culture itself which, by sidelining some of the most challenging questions of historical truth in our time, poses the gravest threat to our future.

Collection of Supplications on the Imam of our Time, Imam Al-Mahdi PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 29 August 2007
Collection of Supplications on the Imam of our Time, Imam Al-Mahdi Dua means 'to call or to seek help'. In the Islamic faith great emphasis has been placed on supplications: supplication is the 'weapon of the believer, the essence of belief and the connection between the Creator of the universe and his creation. The object of supplication is to turn towards the All-Merciful Creator who has created and fashioned all things, giving to each an appropriate and apportioned measure. It is the belief of the Shia creed that it derives from the very Grace and Mercy of Allah, that existence cannot at any time be without a Divine Guide. In these supplications, we beseech the Almighty to hasten in the return of the Divine Guide of the Time, Imam Al-Mahdi (a), a descendant of the Holy Prophet and the Twelfth Imam, who is in occultation and will return alongwith Jesus Christ to establish truth, justice and equity all over the Earth realising thereby the very motive of existence.

Documentary: Occupation 101 PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 14 August 2007
Documentary: Occupation 101 A thought-provoking and powerful documentary film on the current and historical root causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Unlike any other film ever produced on the conflict -- 'Occupation 101' presents a comprehensive analysis of the facts and hidden truths surrounding the never ending controversy and dispels many of its long-perceived myths and misconceptions. The film also details life under Israeli military rule, the role of the United States in the conflict, and the major obstacles that stand in the way of a lasting and viable peace. The roots of the conflict are explained through first-hand on-the-ground experiences from leading Middle East scholars, peace activists, journalists, religious leaders and humanitarian workers whose voices have too often been suppressed in American media outlets.

Imam Khomeini Documentary - 'Ruhollah' with English Subtitles PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 05 August 2007
The world community was first introduced to Imam Khomeini towards the end of 1978 after he was exiled to France for his opposition to the monarchy of Iran. It was from Neauphle-le-Chateau, on the outskirts of the French capital Paris, that Imam Khomeini attained worldwide media coverage while he delivered his severe statements in opposition to the United States of America and orchestrated his final strike against the Shah of Iran, Mohammed Reza Pahlavi. He was acclaimed as one of the greatest pioneers of Islamic revival in the 20th century. His pictures filled the front pages of newspapers and took the headlines in newsbulletins; pictures that were unknown to millions around the world beforehand, especially in the West - with his white beard and black turban - as if someone from the depths of time, from a book of history or an ancient tale, everything about him was unique and new; even his name -- Ruhollah, Spirit of God.

In Memory of the Second Qana Massacre PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 30 July 2007
In Memory of the Qana Massacre On the 30th of July 2006, a massacre was perpetrated at the village of Qana in southern Lebanon. More than 60 people were killed, more than half of whom were children, when Israeli warplanes bombed the village of Qana triggering global outrage and warnings of retribution for a "war crime" by world public opinion. The gravity of the crime at Qana was filtered down however, by the world's media after the massacre following concerted rounds of misinformation propelled by certain political leaders who wished to justify acts of Israeli terrorism against innocent civilians. Ten years earlier, at the same village in Southern Lebanon, the Israeli Air force bombed and killed 106 Lebanese civilians who had taken refuge in a UN shelter inside the UNIFIL compound. The July 2006 attack on Qana replicated with meticulous accuracy, the April 1996 operation, code-named "The Grapes of Wrath".
