As part of a series of lectures on Qur'anic sciences, Sheikh Abbas Jaffer speaks about the phenomenon of the Makkan and Medinite verses in the Holy Qur'an and their ideological and jurisprudential implications. Abbas Jaffer is a teacher at the Hawza Ilmiyya in London and is a frequent lecturer within the London Shi'a community. In this lecture, he presents to the audience the various definitions for Makkan and Medinite verses within academic circle before discussing the merit of this study and its integral place in the study of the Holy Qur'an.
