Ayatollah Hakim predicted the outcome of US policy in Iraq PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 10 May 2007
Ayatollah Hakim, leader of the Iraqi Shi'ites, was imprisoned for calling for an Islamic state. He managed to escape to Iran, where he was supported by the clerics. Hakim had pledged to fight any American military administration set up in post-war Iraq. And he had 15,000 well-trained soldiers ready to fight - the Badr Brigade. This is a report made about him a month prior to the US-led invasion of Iraq. In it he discusses the future of Iraq, if the US-led forces have policy their way.
