Collection of Supplications on the Imam of our Time, Imam Al-Mahdi
Wednesday, 29 August 2007
Dua means 'to call or to seek help'. In the Islamic faith great emphasis has been placed on supplications: supplication is the 'weapon of the believer, the essence of belief and the connection between the Creator of the universe and his slaves. The object of supplication is to turn towards the All-Merciful Creator who has created and fashioned all things, giving to each an appropriate and apportioned measure. It is the belief of the Shia creed that it derives from the very Grace and Mercy of Allah, that existence cannot at any time be without a Divine Guide. In these supplications, we beseech the Almighty to hasten in the return of the Divine Guide of the Time, Imam Al-Mahdi (a), a descendant of the Holy Prophet and the Twelfth Imam, who is in occultation and will return alongwith Jesus Christ to establish truth, justice and equity all over the Earth realising thereby the very motive of existence.
