Clare Short, former Cabinet Minister and a vocal critic of Tony Blair's foreign policy and leadership style, speaks of the 'Blairite Legacy' on the Dateline programme. Days after resigning from her post in the Labour Party over the Iraq war, Clare Short famously told the Foreign Affairs Select Committee on the decisions to go to war in Iraq: "I think it is a series of half-truths, exaggerations and reassurances that were not the case to get us into conflict by the spring and I think that commitment had been made by the previous summer. I think nothing else explains the failure to allow Blix to complete his process and the way in which certainly I personally was deceived and I think the country was deceived..."
