Head of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin
Boroujerdi predicted on Thursday that the upcoming report of IAEA chief Mohamed
ElBaradei on Iran's peaceful nuclear activities would be 'positive'.
Speaking at a gathering dubbed as "Challenges facing Iran and the region", he
said ElBaradei is expected to declare that all remaining ambiguities about
Iran's peaceful nuclear activities have been removed.
ElBaradei's report will have impact on UNSC and would help prevent its members
from taking a unanimous decision on Iran, he said.
The UNSC might issue its third resolution, he said, adding that but this time
the path for the US would be very rough.
The US along with a number of countries try to make UNSC issue resolution
against Iran prior to ElBaradei's report, he said.
The US is now masterminding new plots and they have raised new allegations
against Iran with IAEA, he said.
Such resolutions are quite politically-motivated, illogical and unacceptable, he
said, adding that the Islamic Republic of Iran is to call such a resolution null
and void beforehand.
Iran is strongly opposed to nuclear bombs while the US, Britain and France have
proliferated and tested new generation of nuclear bombs which run counter to NPT,
he underlined.
Some countries try to incite other states to issue resolution against others, he
said.
It is very easy for intelligence services to make fabricated documents against
others, he underlined.
"The impact of UNSC resolution on Iran's economy should not force us to give up
our national rights," he underlined.
"Resistance is regarded as the secret to our nuclear
advancement," he said and underlined "in the next phase we should strengthen our
missile capabilities."
They want to create a fabricated situation to incite others like Saddam Hossein
to launch attack on Iran but to no avail, he underlined.
Referring to transparent negotiations between Iran and IAEA, he said Iran has
acted according to the Modality Plan and have delivered its report to IAEA as
well as IAEA Board of Governors in writing, he concluded.
