Sheikh Qabalan urges Lebanese to Abandon Differences PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 06 April 2008
Vice president of the Higher Shiite Islamic Council Sheikh Abdel-Amir Qabalan said Friday the Lebanese were "in a state of contradictions due to perpetual political bickering."

"We must move away from differences and controversies and cooperate, communicate, elect a president of the republic, form a national-unity government and agree on an electoral law," Qabalan said in his Friday prayer sermon.

He urged Speaker Nabih Berri to bring all members of Parliament and politicians to the dialogue table to find an exit from the Lebanese political crisis, adding that the initiation of Berri's dialogue would help Lebanon "see the light."
