بِسْمِ
اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ
الرَّحِيمِ
وَلاَ تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ
أَمْوَاتًا بَلْ أَحْيَاء عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ
فَرِحِينَ بِمَا آتَاهُمُ اللّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِ وَيَسْتَبْشِرُونَ
بِالَّذِينَ لَمْ يَلْحَقُواْ بِهِم مِّنْ خَلْفِهِمْ أَلاَّ خَوْفٌ
عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِنِعْمَةٍ مِّنَ اللّهِ وَفَضْلٍ وَأَنَّ اللّهَ
لاَ يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Think not of
those who are slain in Allah's way as dead. Nay, they live, finding their
sustenance in the presence of their Lord. They rejoice in the bounty
provided by Allah: And with regard to those left behind, who have not yet joined
them (in their bliss), the (Martyrs) glory in the fact that on them is no fear,
nor have they (cause to) grieve. They glory in the Grace and the bounty from
Allah, and in the fact that Allah suffereth not the reward of the Faithful to be
lost (in the least). [Holy Quran 3:169-171]
It is with deep regret that we are yet again witnessing the hands of wickedness perpetrate heinous crimes against the most basic values known to man since the beginning of time – the right to be.
On the 19th June 2008, bodies of Shia Muslim villagers from Parachinar in Pakistan were found brutally murdered, after having been beheaded, burnt and mutilated by local Taliban affiliated militias. The perpetrators adhere to a crooked ideology known as Wahhabism; the official sect practiced in Saudi Arabia.
AIM is in possession of very disturbing images that reflect the magnitude of these horrific crimes, however, has decided not to publish them with a view of protecting the sanctity of the martyrs and their families.
What is particularly heartbreaking and most disappointing is the profound failure and inaction of the Pakistani government in dealing with these criminals who have intensified their hostility towards the local Shia Muslims in recent years. This massacre is a culmination of more than 2 years of violence against the Shia of Parachinar who are until this moment yearning for help.
The lack of media coverage and insensitivity on the part of the international community is astounding in the context of the so-called global ‘war on terror’. It is regrettable that news items are amplified selectively in tune with the interests of certain actors in the world arena.
AIM hereby calls upon all to express their solidarity with the oppressed Shia of North West Pakistan, by embracing and actively participating in any initiatives organised to assist the victims during these difficult times.

We ask the Almighty to bless these martyrs and to elevate their status amongst the most righteous of
His servants, and to give patience to their families and community who are suffering at the hands of the oppressors.
