Dr Bahmanpour is the director of Islamic Studies Programme at the Islamic College for Advanced Studies in London. He is the screen writer of the famous film "Saint Mary" and many other books. His articles have been published in various international journals. He has also taught Islamic education at Cambridge University. Dr Bahmanpour studied Islamic studies at the Hawza Ilmiyya in Qum and also graduated in Sociology from LSE. In this series of lectures, Sheikh Muhammad Bahmanpour outlines the Islamic viewpoint on the subject of Self-Awareness.

The greatest aim of Divine Messengers was to emphasize the importance of refinement, purification and training of human selves. The Divine Messengers came to teach human beings regarding the path of self-building, nourishment, and perfection of self, as well as to accompany them as their guides and helpers in this vital and determinant task. They came to cleanse and sanctify human selves from their indecent moral characteristics and animal instincts, and to bestow upon them superior spiritual virtues. By timely issuance of warning they succeeded in sanctifying the human selves from the moral obscenities and indecencies.
