What does Islam say about …

Today, Islam is coming under increasing spotlight from all the four corners of the globe and its views on matters such as Abortion, Terrorism, Parenthood and others are often points of interest. This short piece looks to surmise the Islamic view on the various topics by quoting verses from the Holy Qur’an that deal with the array of topics.

children seem fair to many of the disbelievers, in order to ruin them and
confound their way of life.” (The Holy Qur’an, 6:137)

and for you. Truly, killing them is a great sin.” (The Holy Qur’an, 17:31)

Arrogance
“Do not turn your nose up at men in pride, nor walk insolently on the earth –

bearing and subdue your voice. Truly, the harshest of all voices is the voice of
the ass.” (The Holy Qur’an, 31, 18-19)

“Let not one group deride another group – who may be better than them. Nor let

them in kindness or release them in kindness. Do not retain them to their hurt,
so that you transgress – he who does that has wronged his soul.” (The Holy
Qur’an, 2:231)

place difficulties in the way of their marrying their husbands, if it is agreed
between them in kindness.” (The Holy Qur’an, 2:232)

family and the other from her’s – if they both wish for peace, God will cause
their reconciliation.” (The Holy Qur’an, 4:35)

instead of Him, only females; they pray to none other than the Devil – a rebel
whom God cursed and who said: ‘Surely, I will take, of Your servants, an
appointed portion. And surely I will lead them astray, and surely I will arouse
desires in them; and surely I will command them and they will cut the ears of
cattle; and surely I will command them and they will change God’s creation.’

to orphans, to the poor, to the wayfarer, to those who ask, and to set slaves
free.” (The Holy Qur’an, 2:177)

harm.” (The Holy Qur’an, 2:263)

Who sustains and protects all that exists. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes
Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. Who
can intercede with Him, except with his permission? He knows what happens to
them in this world, and what will happen to them in the hereafter, and they will

God is Aware of everything you do.” (The Holy Qur’an, 3:180)

your parents, or your kin, whether rich or poor – God is a better protector to

do." (The Holy Qur’an, 4:135)

vegetation after rain, whereof the growth is pleasing to the grower, but
afterward it dries up and you see it turning yellow, then it becomes straw. And
in the Hereafter, there is grievous punishment and forgiveness from God and His
good pleasure, whereas the life of the world is but a matter of illusion. Race
with one another to earn forgiveness from your Lord, and towards Paradise, the
width of which is as the width of the heavens and the earth, prepared for those
who believe in God and His messengers. That is the bounty7 of God, which He
bestows on whoever He wills. And God is the owner of infinite bounty." (The Holy

debtor is in difficulty, then postpone repayment to a time of ease; and that you
cancel the debt as charity’ would be better for you, if you did but know." (The
Holy Qur’an, 2:278-280)
