AIM Condemns Sectarian Rhetoric at Muharram Programmes

The Ahlulbayt Islamic Mission (AIM) condemns recent comments made from certain Muharram pulpits promoting sectarianism against Sunni theology and law whilst also attempting to push the Shia Muslim community away from the cause of Palestine.

AIM would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that this is not the message of the Ahlulbayt (as) or of our great scholars such as Imam Khomeini, Ayatollah Khamenei and Ayatollah Sistani.

In this regard, AIM feels obliged to warn the community against such actions that intentionally take advantage of the Muharram platform to exploit sensitivities, and incite sectarianism, which serves the enemies of Islam, all the while neglecting the major challenges that face the Ummah.

Wa Min Allah Al-Tawfiq.

Here are 5 easy ways of getting yourself a Palestinian flag for the #FlyTheFlag Campaign …

  1. Bravo AIM for your boldness and clear logical stands!

  2. Wallah confronting realities is different from causing sectarian differences.. he promotes respect for other sects in number of his previous lectures, how can we accuse someone because of only one lecture when we have a lot of other instances where he motivated us to accept the differences and respect others (See his 1433-2012 Ramadhan lectures on Rethinking Shia Sunni Unity) however if people dunt want to accept the ground facts then that is another story whatsoever

  3. Personally, I disagree with this statement. I do not feel any sectarian issues are being stirred. Shias are being murdered, but we should stay quiet? because of sectarianism? Doesn’t make sense. Generally, I am a supporter of AIMs movement and work you do, may Allah bless you, please continue.

  4. Salaam AIM brothers and sisters. Firstly can I say your work is outstanding and inspiring and thank you all so much. May Allah SWT reward all your efforts.
Secondly in the interests of unity among the Muslim Ummah and the biggest challenge we currently face in ensuring this aim is not rendered impossible I wrote a piece which I hope may be of some use. W-A-Salaam

  5. Jazakallah AIM for your clear and logical stand against certain purveyors of fitna from the mimbar of Imam Hussain (as)

  6. Is this in regards to a particular speaker who had one of his lectures titled “ISIS”?

  7. Salam, I have watched the lecture called ISIS by this Iraqi speaker and to be honest there was nothing wrong with the talk. He mentioned many great historical facts and I actually gained a great deal of knowledge out of this…
People are going over the top!

  8. You condemn ? I do not understand!. Are you in a position to dictate to speakers what they should speak? I do not think so. Further more, if you are going to condemn, please specify who are you referring to – do not leave your readers in the limbo as this causes rift and “Fitna” within the community.

You need to take a constructive approach – I think the time has come for us speakers in English Language to form a united body… We are working on it… Do not forget we started reading English Lectures back in the 1970 in the UK to overcome the the pathetic state of lectures from the south asian speakers as well the stagnated arabic/farsi speakers who had very little to address our immediate.. Trust me we are working on it —
