UPDATE: We have received news of verified sightings of the new moon with the naked eye in Dar Al-Salaam, Madagascar, South Africa and Mozambique on the night of Thursday 14th June 2018.

UPDATE: We have received news of verified sightings of the new moon with the naked eye in Bahrain, Kuwait, and in Qatif on the night of Thursday 14th June 2018.

UPDATE: The moon has been sighted with optical aids inside the Islamic Republic of Iran on the night of Thursday 14th June 2018, and as such Ayatollah Khamenei has announced Eid Al-Fitr on Friday 15th June 2018 in Iran.

UPDATE: Ayatollah Sistani’s Office in Najaf has announced no verifications of moon sightings with the naked eye in Iraq or surrounding areas, and as such Eid Al-Fitr will be on Saturday 16th June 2018 for those areas.

UPDATE: Ayatollah Al-Hakim’s Office in Najaf has announced a verified moon sighting on Thursday 14th June that suffices the jurisprudential requirements for Ayatollah Al-Hakim and as such, they have declared Friday 15th June 2018 as Eid Al-Fitr.

Based on the above information, then Eid Al-Fitr will vary based on the jurisprudential opinion of the scholars.

For followers of Ayatollah Khamenei, Eid Al-Fitr is on Friday 15th June in all parts of the world with the exception of Japan, the Koreas, Northeastern China, Eastern and Central Australia, New Zealand and Eastern Russia.

For the followers of Ayatollah Khoei, Eid Al-Fitr is on Friday 15th June in all parts of the world.

For followers of Ayatollah Sistani and Imam Khomeini, Eid Al-Fitr is on Friday 15th June in Africa, United States, most parts of Canada and South America. As for the followers of Ayatollah Sistani and Imam Khomeini in the Middle East, United Kingdom, Central Europe, Scandinavia and Australia, Eid Al-Fitr will be on Saturday 16th June.
